Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 19, 2026
This policy is provided in good faith and in plain language. It is not legal advice; the operator should have it reviewed by a qualified attorney before relying on it for compliance.
Who we are
The Band Parent Manual ("we," "us") operates bandparentmanual.com. We're a small group of veteran band parents building the prep resources we wish we'd had. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and what we do with it.
What we collect
- Name and email address — when you sign up for the free checklist or purchase the Survival Kit.
- Payment information — processed entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your card number; Stripe handles that.
- Basic analytics and ad-measurement data — collected via the Meta Pixel and, optionally, Google Analytics. This includes things like which pages you visited, whether you came from an ad, and your browser type.
- Email engagement — whether you opened or clicked our emails, so we can send you things that are actually useful.
Why we collect it
- To deliver what you asked for — the checklist, the Survival Kit, any future products.
- To send you related emails you can unsubscribe from at any time.
- To measure whether our ads are working (so we can find more parents like you, not waste money on ads that don't help).
- To run and improve this small business.
Third parties we use
- Stripe — processes your payment. Their privacy policy governs how they handle your card data.
- GoHighLevel — our email and CRM platform. Stores your name, email, and email engagement data so we can send and manage communications.
- Meta (Facebook) — we run ads on Meta platforms and use the Meta Pixel and Conversions API to measure their performance. This means some browsing and purchase data is shared with Meta for ad measurement.
- Vercel — hosts this website. Processes standard server logs (IP address, browser info) as part of serving pages.
Cookies and tracking
We use the Meta Pixel, which sets cookies in your browser to measure whether our ads led to a visit or a purchase. In plain terms: if you clicked a Facebook ad and then bought the kit, Meta's pixel helps us know the ad worked — so we can run more of what's useful and less of what isn't. We may also use Google Analytics (GA4) for basic website analytics.
Your browser's built-in cookie controls and any ad-blocker you use will work normally on our site.
We send two kinds of email:
- Transactional — your checklist delivery, your Survival Kit delivery, purchase confirmations. These are not marketing; they're delivering what you asked for.
- Marketing — occasional emails about band-camp prep, new resources, or related products. Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link that works immediately.
How long we keep your data
We keep your information as long as it's needed to run the business and serve you — your email stays in our CRM so we can deliver what you bought and send updates you've opted into. If you want it gone, tell us (see below) and we'll delete it.
Your rights
You can:
- Unsubscribe from marketing emails using the link in any email.
- Request access to the data we hold about you.
- Request correction if something's wrong.
- Request deletion of your data entirely.
For any of these, email hello@bandparentmanual.com. We'll respond within a reasonable timeframe. If you're a California resident, you have additional rights under the CCPA — same email, same response.
Children
This product is purchased by and directed at parents — adults preparing their kids for band camp. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have, please contact us and we'll delete it promptly.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll note the new "last updated" date at the top. Continued use of the site after changes means you accept the updated policy.
